At Ysgol Maes Edwin, the PTA forms an integral part of school life. We meet regularly and align our fundraising to the school’s development plan to ensure every pupil benefits from all funds raised.
We hold an annual Summer fair which previously has been themed. These have included American Independence Day and a World Cup theme complete with a mini World Cup tournament. These attract many local businesses and always have good attendance from those parents and friends of the school as well as the local community. We encourage the pupils of the school to also get involved and they also have their own stalls including the sale of the produce from the School Garden that they have harvested.
At Christmas, our school transforms into a winter wonderland for the Christmas fair, and we have been lucky to have been visited by Father Christmas in our school Grotto.
Through the money raised from our fundraising we have been able to provide the school with many resources including:
- Fruit Trees and Vegetable seeds for the School Garden
- Picnic Benches
- Interactive Whiteboard
- Outdoor play equipment
- Nursery play equipment
Aside from these annual events, we have also run a number of successful fundraising events including a monthly bonus ball draw and band nights. We feel it is important to establish and maintain relationships with the local community, to enable full support both to and from the school. We are always welcoming new members and new ideas to the PTA. Details of future PTA meetings and fundraising events will be displayed both on this page and also on the PTA notice board in school.
Spring Fundraising Event
We are currently in the process of planning our spring fundraising event. The money raised from this event will go towards the resources required for the new “Read, Write Inc” initiative being rolled out across all schools in Flintshire. Each child will therefore benefit from every penny raised.
